You're Mourning the Person They Pretended to Be

You miss them because, at one point, they were affectionate, attentive, and seemed to be everything you ever wanted.
But over time, their "love" and "care" started to feel conditional, leaving you chasing the version of them you first met.
Letting go is hard because you're not just grieving the relationship—you're grieving the person you believed they were.
2.) You Crave Closure You'll Never Get
Most relationships end with some level of understanding, but with a narcissist, there is no real closure.
They refuse to take responsibility, twist the truth, and often leave you with more questions than answers.
Without closure, your mind keeps searching for a way to make sense of everything, keeping you emotionally tied to them long after they're gone.
3.) Your Self-Worth Took a Hit
Being with a narcissist slowly wears you down.
Their criticism, blame, and emotional games make you feel like you weren't good enough or that you somehow failed them.
Even after the relationship ends, those feelings linger.
When this is the case, missing them isn't always about them—sometimes, it's about missing the sense of worth you lost while being with them.
